Every time I see one of those I cant help but think of "Beauty and the Beast ".
If I recall correctly they are real popular in the southwest.

My garden has gone to hell. After I broke my ankle, I just couldn't get around to tending it. Not only that, but our next door neighbor has a huge evergreen tree that drops tons of needles into our yard and they refuse to cut it back. It hangs over our yard almost to our pool. So, screw it. Although, I have been toying with the idea of planting some pots of medicinal marijuana! *snicker!*

Glad to see you posting Princess !
I think if the branches overhang your yard you have the right to trim them.
I have a similar issue with lack of sun. I need to have about 4 large maples topped so they do not shade the garden area.
My tomatoes grew very tall and did not produce as they should since all the growth was reaching for the sun.
I tried the organic method this year, but next year I am spraying !
